The Fake Run

What is the fake run? It when you are crossing the street and so you kind do this fake jog thing so the guy that is slowing down thinks you are going fast but really you are going half as fast as if you just walked with your normal full stride.

Don't do the Fake Run I already know you are slow.

  1. I like when I am entering some place and being the gentleman that I am, I hold the door for the people behind me...but if they are more than a step behind they feel like they have to run / fake run so as not to leave me there for an extra two seconds. Seriously, I would rather have you walk normal than watch your awkward run. Its two seconds, if I really cared I wouldn't have held open the door.

  2. There is a guy at work that holds the door for eveyone, even if they are like 50 feet behind. So of course these people feel obligated to "fake run" to the open door. Unfortunately they are usually older ladies, that I think may actually be running because they are out of breath when the get to the door. He is going to kill someone.

  3. We are not supposed to hold dors for anyone at work, Because every door has a ID card reader. So everyone is supposed to scan their badge and then open the door themselves, they call it tailgateing to go through a door without scanning.

We aren't either, but we are Iowans and we are polite. not like you heathens up north..... Actually we just don't care too much for rules... and we know most people that work here, as no one else shares our space...
